The 2016 campaign season created an incredible response to politics across the country—on both sides of the aisle. One of the best outcomes that we’ve noticed is the uptick of women in politics and the rising number of women who are interested in starting their political career. Politics is a tough industry for women to break into, especially when you consider that women represent less than 25% of elected officials in this country. Nevertheless, we are seeing an undeniable increase in interest from women that are ready to represent the best interest of their neighbors in elected office and are moving in the right direction.
There will never be complete equality until women themselves help to make laws and elect lawmakers.
– Susan B. Anthony, 1897
It’s Expensive To Campaign
Initial campaign investments can be incredibly expensive—basic websites start at $1,500, yard signs will run you about $500 or more, and flyers are anywhere from $300-$500. You’ll also need a logo ($500.00) and likely you’ll want some campaign gear, like t-shirts and bumper stickers. Potentially, you could be looking at a $5,000+ investment just to tell people you’re running. You’ll spend the first month asking donors to help you pay for your startup marketing when you should be using that money for filing fees, a field office, campaign rallies, and political advertising.

Check with your local or state government for their campaign guidelines (like these Regular Municipal Election guidelines for Fort Collins), and find out when your filing deadline is. After that, contact Blue Cedar Design so that we can start brainstorming with you and/or your campaign manager and begin building a brand identity for your campaign. After that, we’ll start your website and whatever other marketing materials you need.
We make it easy, affordable and unique so that you can campaign for public office with confidence, knowing that your brand and your online presence represent the values and ideals that you are presenting on the campaign trail.
